Multiple Photo Layouts

I recently did these layouts of my kids. As you can see I've used multiple photos. I think this is a great way to save on your scrapbooking. Let's face it if I did one layout per photo I'd use alot more supplies than I have here. I love to use multiple photos whenever I can. I really only do a single photo per layout when I'm wanting to produce something of the same artistic value as the layouts featured in the magazines. I also tend to resize alot of the pictures on a common theme and print them on one single photo. (See example) I then cut these out later, and use them on my layouts. This is especially useful if you're scrapping an event such as a wedding or birthday party. This montage of photo's is from my son's birthday and was printed on a standard 5' x 7' photo.

One of my favourite pages that I have done of my son is whre I have used three photos that I took with him alongside the same object. It is a really simple page but really effective I think. I was also really cheap as the stickers cost $1 and then I had some blue tissue paper that I place behind some of the pictures (this was free as it wrapped a gift). http://www.leaandanne.com/ScrapbookPhoto.htm

I find that multi photo layouts say so much more about what happened. I'm with you when it comes to single photo layouts as they are best when you have that one "special" photo that you print up nice and big and make an arty statement with it.

After looking at the cost of a layout I'm going to challenge myself to do some cardstock only layouts (not for my wedding though). Do you think you could manage it? Well I'm not sure but I'm gonna give it a go. But it does get a little ridiculous the costs, con't you think? So I'm going to challenge myself to do a layout using cardstock and patterned paper only! Of course not having a cricuit or sizzix or anything this will mean hand cutting my title....... painstaking... BUT I think it'll be a challenge artistically too. These layouts were done by Deb of Toowoomba and you can see how she's used her paper and cardstock to acentuate her photo's theme.... I especially love the dolphin! We're on TV!

For all those readers of my blog who are located in the Brisbane region of Australia tune in to Brisbane Extra ( Channel 9) this afternoon at 5:30pm to see a story my DH, DD, DS and I filmed for them a few days ago. If you're not in the area and therefore unable to get the program you can view it online after the show at http://www.extraonline.com.au/ . It usually takes a day to get the story online under the " latest story " category. The story is about the Lions Auties and Uncles Program . This is a fabulous program run by the Lions clubs. The program is designed to help families. They match needy children up with an Aunty or Uncle figure who they can see regularly and learn from and generally absorb into their family unit. All of the Aunties and Uncles volunteer for the program and are not paid. Though they are checked out carefully! We have applied because as many of you know we don't have any grandma's for my kids. Coffee Mugs are Finished

Here are the digi scrapped coffee mugs I told you about a few posts back. They're back from the "printer". These were really easy to do. I first created my document that I was digi scrapping and I made the size of the document 4" x 6'" (a standard photo). I then decorated that page using my digital scrapbooking papers and embellishments and finally added the photos. I then went to my local photo lab and uploaded these images to their software and chose to have them printed on mugs. (I chose the stretch option which stretches the image around the mug. So then I had to resize the image to get all my decorations on the mug). And here they are! It only took them a week to print them! So if you're thinking of doing this for a christmas present I think you may just get it back in time...... but check with your photo lab to make sure they could get it back to you before Christmas. I'm happy with the result..... hope the recipients will be too?
