Scrapbooking Made Simple

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a great new years. We had a fun night thanks to some good friends of ours. We had Pizza and a few drinks outside under the fairty lights and lanterns in front of our fire before heading inside and playing pictionary on the Wii. This was alot of fun and the kids had a ball. Then it was back to the the backyard where we watched the scarborough fireworks go off.  A lovely simple evening with lots of laughs and not driving and no crowds of people.. Perfect! Here is a layout I did of one of the many photos of our wedding vow renewal. We got so many fabulous photos of this day I've been doing lots and lots of layouts and canvas beyond the page projects.  I got the paper I used for my background when it was on special as it's been sitting in the shop for a while and the calendar journal spot was also on special so I felt I could lash out a little and use the crochet piece and the prima flower.  The title is one I punched out a long time ago using...

Here are some photo's of the off the page projects I recently completed for around my home. These items are all in my living area. For those who have been reading me for a while you'll remember the artworks I completed for this area to match the cushion and the colour scheme is bronze,black, silver, white. This first item is a paper towel holder which I painted silver and then created a bronze topper for it using a piece of chipboard I decorated. Next is this folder "Family Organizer". I got so sick of all the pieces of paper I had to hang onto for each member of the family like the dancing newsletter for my daughter outlining the concert information etc etc etc.... so I created this folder with a section for everyone... Now every piece of paper has a place be that bin or organiser or bills folder. I then altered a letter holder to make it match my colour scheme this was a simple case of painting it with acrylic paint and then adding the chipboard element (gotta love ...

My best scrapbuddy went shopping without me....... :( And found this fabulous pack! I think Bella are one of the BEST value ranges on the market. This pack which consists of several co-ordinating papers, a sheet of cardstick stickers and a sheet of chipboard letters for only $5. This was a special at the "Reject China Shop". To get these sorts of great specials though you need to regularly browse all the cheaper and chipper shops. They don't tend to buy things regularly so you never know what you'll find... bit of a treasure hunt really. I love these sorts of co-ordinated kits but most of them are way too expensive! Now all I have to do is get out there to see what else they have... this was the last one... :( There was also a range of co-ordinating embellishments for $3.00

Sorry guys I just realised I didn't give you the lowdown on the papercrafts festival I attended on Saturday. So it was a smaller festival than last year. Not many stalls, but those that were there were larger than in the past. So that was nice. It made it easier to move around. There weren't that many demonstrations on at the stalls this year either. The shopping was great! There were alot of bargains. The standout products for me were the 12 x 12 Bella Chipboard sheets (flowers and swirls) for $2.00 AND the K and Co paper packs, specifically the 'punch out flower' pads. These weren't that cheap expecially at $26.95 but they are beautiful! (My best scrap buddy bought one of these. I'm so jealous). The only other product that caught my attention was the new stitching punches. Anyway we had a ball!
