Mixed Media Canvas - Friendship

Image
This mixed media canvas was alot of fun! I used the Bo Bunny Isabella papers and trinkets along with lace and other pretty buttons. I created this canvas for a girlfriend of mine who liked a canvas I had done for my outdoor area. As she was moving away I wanted to give her something I'd created to show her how much I appreciate her friendship.  As the one she liked was looking a little tired I couldn't just give her that one so I did another one inspired by it to go above her bed and this is what I came up with. I painted the background with pale pink acrylic shimmer paint then using a TCW Stencil and charcoal glimmermist I misted the background. Then I used the acrylic paint with some texture paste and another TCW stencil to create some dimension with the pink swirl.  Kaisercraft rub-ons and wooden ornate gates (painted with chrome spray paint) were used to embellish and journal the canvas. I used the Tim Holz Sizzix Die with the key, lock and gate hinge to ...

Love Wedding Canvas - Step by Step

Image
Here's a project I have just finished for a friends' wedding. This canvas will sit on the "guest sign in book table".  I have taken step by step photos so you can easily see what I've done. For this wedding I have used a Black and Gold and White colour scheme throughout to set a formal elegant theme. Step 1. was to spray the background of the canvas with gold glimmermist through a piece of lace. I then added papers and embellishments to the front of the canvas using Bo Bunny papers and a variety of other manufacturers products.  I used the Sizzix Hardware die to cut the gate hinge and then painted it gold.  The black bling bazzil shape is the centre cut out from the wedding invitations and put through the big shot with an embossing folder.  I also used the Sizzix Tim Holz Die to cut the birdcage and bird.  These rosebuds were made using the EK success mini flower punch.  A bit of poetry from "Shelley"  Some ha...

Pink and Black and White "BFF"

Image
I have some fabulous photos of me and my BFF's..I'm a very lucky girl cause I have a few..... so of course these need to be scrapbooked to make them look even more beautiful (LOL). Here is a layout I did recently.... So how did I save money on this layout? Well I used scraps of patterned paper from other previous layouts..... I misted my background to save on using a patterned paper, I made flowers (of course)..... hmmm I made my own embellishments (Butterfly is glitter on acetate; I didn't stamp the image onto acetate I just placed my acetate over an image and used art glitter glue to mark out the outline and then covered this in black glitter.  Then I added the other colours. Hint: leave white glitter till last! Then I cut around the image). Also I took some chipboard letters, covered them in glue and then glitter to make my title Tip: I keep all my chipboard letters in drawers after I've made a few words out of the packet and don't think there's an...
