"Mothers Inspired the Soul" Canvas Class at Arnolds Scrapbooking

Image
We ran this class twice as it was so popular so I haven't been able to put the instructions up until we had finished both classes. Today I had a real newbie scrapper who did this class and she did a great job of this, so it's suitable for all levels of scrapper from newbie to advanced. I've used the gorgeous Melissa Francis papers but you could adapt this layout to use any two papers from the same range. This canvas is a 10 x 15cm canvas that has been painted using a sponge roller and a pearlescent pink paint by monte marte. I used papers by Melissa Francis to create this layout. I have distressed the edge of my papers and then inked them but feel free to leave this step out if you don’t like a distressed effect to your page. (A small sponge is included in your kit for this purpose).   Distress and ink the edges of the 19 x 23.5cm patterned paper. Using a scalpel cut the points of the bunting flags to allow your photo to poke slightly under the cut out pieces. Using...

60th Bday Present

This is a canvas I did as a present for my Best Friends' Mum.  She is such a wonderful lady and has been so great to me since my mum died I wanted to do something special for her.  This is the first of two canvases I did. One for her and one for her best friend. When doing a canvas I like to paint my canvas first and then use papers to accent my photo. I like to keep canvases really simple. Here I used one piece of cardstock with a martha stewart border punch and then some hearts and more of those handmade flowers I've been doing to add some colour to the layout.  I didn't have a punch or cartridge for my cricuit to cut the scalloped hearts so instead used a card I had received from a friend as a template to draw around and then hand cut the hearts. I also added one large flower folded in half behind all my handmade blooms to give more ruffle to the layout. When doing a canvas I like to do one photo and have the photo much larger proportionately than I would on a scra...

Canvases for the Nursery

Another idea I had was to take small canvases, I've used 3.5 inches x 4 inches and decorate them. These were very cheap at $1.50 each. Once decorated I will use one canvas per letter to spell out the baby's name...... Hubby and I have narrowed it down to three choices... all of which have four letters......... So here are the decorated canvases. I will add the letters and embellishments once we decide on a name....LOL
