Scrapbooking Made Simple

Here are a couple of valentines day cards I made really quickly. For this card I used the technique of dry embossing on velum to do the hearts and then cut them out. I stamped the front and inside of the card with this Kaiser stamp and then I used a simple square of silver shiny cardstock and a smaller square of red patterned paper. The hearts were glued down with one using pop dots to raise it up. And finally I used a TLC sticker for the inside of the card. This card was even simpler I just stamped the front of the card with the Kaiser stamp using black ink and then I stamped "Love" using a gold ink and the Inkado stamp. Once this was dry I went back and painted parts of the stamp with gold paint. (sorry for the blurry photos I was in a rush to photograph it before DH saw it. So have you put your order in for your Valentines Day Present? I have the joy of combining Valentines Day (14th Feb) with my Wedding Anniversary (10th Feb) and getting one big present or opting for two small presents. This year I have combined the two and have put an order in for scrapbooking tools.... Very Romantic I know.... if you're a true scrapaholic like me this does rock your world... if not you'll find it odd...LOL Anyway ... what did I request? Well I've requested two Kaiser Stamps (clear ones) and the acrylic blocks to hold these stamps as well as a fiskars punch (border punch + embossing)..... I'll show you a photo of my goodies when I receive them all! Valentines day is a great opportunity to make a card as it's a way of showing your love. Have you thought about what you're doing for valentines day this year? I'd tell you all but as my DH reads my blog it would spoil the suprise so I'll let you know after the event. With Valentines Day coming up I thought I should do a valentines themed layout but didn't have a photo of my DH that I liked for the purpose (will have to take one on Valentines Day) so....... I don't know if he's really her first love or not but what I do know is they're great friends and when they're playing together they only let one other person join their games (DD's best friend .. see ballet layouts). OK. as of four days ago I have now been married 12 years ! WOW time flies! It's a bit hard to believe that twelve years have passed already. My DH and I didn't do anything special. We never do. We actually missed it this year cause neither of us new what the date was .... then all the hype about valentines day got our attention and we realised we'd missed our anniversary. So we made up for it for valentines day by treating each other to really expensive chocolate! YUM! I really have to say though that valentines day is my least favourite holiday . It's so much pressure. Yes you can do it cheaply, it's all about how you express your feelings. But for me it just feels so false. I think you should find small ways to express your love every day rather than trying to prove yourself on the 14th of February.
