2nd Birthday for my Blog

Hi guys,

I've been very busy re-organising my house. I'm in heaven at the moment labelling things and organising AND I took this opportunity to "scrapbook" some items for the home. I'll be uploading some pictures for you over the next couple of days. Mostly I have taken items I've found about the house and given them a make over so they match the decor better.... a great way to save money!

But being so busy I completely forgot that the 6th of October was the 2nd Birthday of my blog... Yep I've been at this for 2 years... Hard to believe huh? Might tell DH he has to take me out to celebrate...... especially cause by January going out will be nigh on impossible for a while!

Anyway if you're new to my blog I really do recommend you go back through my earliest blog entries as you will find the largest number of "cheap" tips at the beginning of my ramblings. I try not to repeat myself but of course occaisionally I do.... But if its tips for how to save money you're after then the best place to find them is in my earlier entries.

Happy Birthday! I've been away from here too long obviously...lots going on. I've been absorbed in being a Nana for the first time...5 weeks early I might add! So that got us all moving...a beautiful little girl for my DS#1 and his wife. How is your pregnancy? Hope you are feeling great!

Cardstock only Layouts

After looking at the cost of a layout I'm going to challenge myself to do some cardstock only layouts (not for my wedding though). Do you think you could manage it? Well I'm not sure but I'm gonna give it a go. But it does get a little ridiculous the costs, con't you think? So I'm going to challenge myself to do a layout using cardstock and patterned paper only! Of course not having a cricuit or sizzix or anything this will mean hand cutting my title....... painstaking... BUT I think it'll be a challenge artistically too. These layouts were done by Deb of Toowoomba and you can see how she's used her paper and cardstock to acentuate her photo's theme.... I especially love the dolphin! When I went to a scrapbook evening recently one of the ladies did a fabulous layout using paper piecing. She made Dora the Explorer layous and her 'dora' was fantastic. Coffee Mugs are Finished

Here are the digi scrapped coffee mugs I told you about a few posts back. They're back from the "printer". These were really easy to do. I first created my document that I was digi scrapping and I made the size of the document 4" x 6'" (a standard photo). I then decorated that page using my digital scrapbooking papers and embellishments and finally added the photos. I then went to my local photo lab and uploaded these images to their software and chose to have them printed on mugs. (I chose the stretch option which stretches the image around the mug. So then I had to resize the image to get all my decorations on the mug). And here they are! It only took them a week to print them! So if you're thinking of doing this for a christmas present I think you may just get it back in time...... but check with your photo lab to make sure they could get it back to you before Christmas. I'm happy with the result..... hope the recipients will be too?

Ella is nearly 5mths old.

Here's the latest photo of my baby... She will be 5 months old next week... I love this photo so I thought I'd make a canvas artwork for her bedroom.. But I can't decide what to call it..... Joy? Beautiful? Cheeky? Or if I should do a E is for ... L is for etc thing on it? Any other ideas guys?
