Rabbits Rabbits Everywhere

I did this layout early last year and haven't had a chance to share with you the cost saving ideas I used here. I stamped my title with paint directly onto the page, this saved alot on my title. Next I used a little paper rabbit I purchased for .50c at a show. I then used it as a template to punch out this little grey one. I added a ribbon to the page that came wrapped around a present I received and I used a piece of patterned paper that I got in a bulk packet. And the little rabbit charm came in a packet of six for $3.00.

So even though I used alot of embellishments I haven't spent a great deal of money on this page.

I loved these photos of my DS when he was a baby and dressed in these cute little bunny pjamas. For some reason at this stage he was mad for rabbits. Every night we had to read all 12 books that we had with rabbits in them. His toothbrush had a rabbit on it and his favourite television show was "Max and Ruby".... you guessed it rabbits!

Hi Miche, this is punch art. You use your paper punches to create things. These rabbits were created using mostly oval punches and heart shape ones. If you're looking for idea books that give you the "plans" for some of these you can go to Amazon.com and search punch art books and LOTS come up! Paper piecing is a quilting term. They use paper shapes to create patterns of little pictures. You can use a similar technique for scrapbooking but you cut the paper out rather than punch it. I like the punches as it is more exact than I am with a pair of sissors...lol... tragically for a scrapbooker I can't cut a straight line!

After looking at the cost of a layout I'm going to challenge myself to do some cardstock only layouts (not for my wedding though). Do you think you could manage it? Well I'm not sure but I'm gonna give it a go. But it does get a little ridiculous the costs, con't you think? So I'm going to challenge myself to do a layout using cardstock and patterned paper only! Of course not having a cricuit or sizzix or anything this will mean hand cutting my title....... painstaking... BUT I think it'll be a challenge artistically too. These layouts were done by Deb of Toowoomba and you can see how she's used her paper and cardstock to acentuate her photo's theme.... I especially love the dolphin! Coffee Mugs are Finished

Here are the digi scrapped coffee mugs I told you about a few posts back. They're back from the "printer". These were really easy to do. I first created my document that I was digi scrapping and I made the size of the document 4" x 6'" (a standard photo). I then decorated that page using my digital scrapbooking papers and embellishments and finally added the photos. I then went to my local photo lab and uploaded these images to their software and chose to have them printed on mugs. (I chose the stretch option which stretches the image around the mug. So then I had to resize the image to get all my decorations on the mug). And here they are! It only took them a week to print them! So if you're thinking of doing this for a christmas present I think you may just get it back in time...... but check with your photo lab to make sure they could get it back to you before Christmas. I'm happy with the result..... hope the recipients will be too?

Digiscrap a PhotoBook when on special!

Have you ever wondered what to do with all that beautiful digitally scrapbooked work? Well you could print a photo book. I save all my pages up and then when there's a special on (Like the recent $9.95 for a 19 page book at Big W) I go in and get them printed. This way I have a hard copy of my work to show people and I get the pages printed very cheaply... that's around 52 cents per page. Just remember though the specials are more commonly done for the smaller books 8 x 8 etc. So when doing your layouts keep that in mind.
