Glimmermisting Class Project - Sing like nobody's listening

Image
This is a project I created for a glimmermisting class.  I had pulled this post (previously posted in March) as this project was to be publlished in the Cricut Magazine but now that it has gone to publication I can again show you my creation. I am really loving my glimmermist at the moment and am trying to get as much done as possible before the Tim Holz Distress Pens come cause I know I'm gonna want ALL of those! LOL So one of the things I love about glimmermisting is how pretty the effect of mixing colours comes up and how cheaply you can complete a project. This project uses three pieces of white cardstock attached to mini canvases.  The only extra costs are two little charms, a rub on from Kaisercraft, some acetate and styrofoam, toothpicks, some ribbon and the wings. Everything else was created from my three pieces of cardstock. The techniques I used here were misting, pooling, masking, resist stamping and heat emboss stamping.  If you want to know how to do these tech

Well my pack of goodies arrived from cricut today. I'm so happy with all the wonderful things they sent me.  Funny I'd of been happy just to be published in their magazine. LOL.... So the first picture is "me" holding the issue of the magazine my work is featured in. The second picture is the page in the magazine featuring my work and the last picture is the lovely pack of goodies they sent to me to thank me for contributing to their magazine.

Prima Romance Novel Collection - Love

Image
I wanted to work with this beautiful range of Prima Papers - Romance Novel (Dear John and Love Story) so I actually worked backwards this time. Creating my layout and then adding some photos last. I used two pieces of patterned paper and offcuts of light pink, white and burgundy cardstock and some handmade paper from other projects, to make the flowers.  I used a sizzix die (hearts and swirl) in the Big Shot Pro so I could cut from my background 12 x 12 piece of chipboard. I then applied patterned paper to the back of the cut out area and then used another TCW Stencil - Brocade and texture paste to add some dimension to the page.  I got a new stamp from Inkadinkado for Christmas - Steam Punk which I tried out on this layout. I also made the picket fence using a sizzix die and the cut outs from my original background and decorated them in two different ways.. One was covered in patterned paper and one was painted. Finally I used Kaisercraft Rub-ons In-Love and Cre8tiv Chipboar

Good Dog Max

Here's another layout on our fury family member.... lol... Max is going to appear in quite a few layouts.  I wanted to show another way to do multi photo layouts. On this layout I used a rub on from Kaisercraft - journalling, more of the Adornit creations top paw stickers and the paperhouse productions cardtock stickers (good dog) Adornit Doggy Life Doggy Cut Apart sheet, White Bazzil and some chipboard letters from Bella that I coloured using two shades of blue ink. Because this design was simple and the elements all of similar widths I used foam tape to create a variety of heights off the page.

"Pals" Puppy Love

Image
PALS: Puppy Love Is the first layout of our new furry family member. I used a TCW stencil - Brick Wall to achieve my background using texture paste. I then used some stickers from AdornIt (Top Paw) to decorate the page and make my title and then I embroidered a swirl in the bottom right hand corner. A nice quick layout. Well actually it took a while but that was all in waiting for the texture paste to dry. LOL

Happy New Year 2013

Hey Bloggers, Welcome to another year of my ramblings. 2012 was a fabulous year for me. I began the year designing for Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine. (I was so honoured to have this opportunity and enjoyed my assignments for them immensely)  Was published in a Cricuit Magazine (This was such a wonderful opportunity as this is an international publication... still amazed by this), continued teaching at my local scrapbook store ( Arnolds Scrapbooking Store ) and now have a job there two days a week. I love that! Being in the shop gives me the chance to do what I love best "help others scrapbook". I also love seeing what's coming before anyone else! I sometimes take a while to warm up to a pattern so this is awesome for me as it allows me to decide if I like something and get my samples made before everyone else buys it out! lol... That's one of the other things I love about my job! I get paid to make samples for the shop. So during downtime in the shop I get to c
