Black White and Silver Castle Book

Image
I just fiished this princess castle book from Kaiser Craft for DD. I used DCWV Paper Stack Glitter Papers for the project. I wanted to make this different as most of the examples I've seen on this project are done in a pretty pink and green. So I thought black silver white and purple would be different. I'm going to fill this with photos of DD at different ages and different sayings I'd like her to remember. Next project will be DS's castle. My challenge was to only use items from my stash. This is a great way to use up excess supplies and also makes you stretch your creativity a bit.

Board Book - Baby Boy's First Year

Image
I used an old sticker book here to make this little book with "highlights" from DS's first year. I used a Bella Kit so I didn't have to think too much (lol). I love using items that would otherwise be thrown away and giving them a new lease on life. Plus I love to do a book for DS every now and then.... DD gets lots of cool stuff made for her cause I get lots of pretty papers and such so have to use them. So a book all about him was a great little surprise for him. I'd love to do a book of DD's first year but unfortunately I didn't have a camera at that point so I don't have many photos of her as a baby. Only whatever family and friends have given me.

See ds stamps GREAT VALUE

Image
I love a bargain! BUT only when it's something I'm going to get alot of use out of. This cute stamp is versatile as you can stamp it as "top 10 reasons" or "top 10 favorites" or just stamp "reasons" "favourites" or "top10" and best of all it was only $2.20! This was actually a find at a local scrapbook store. I'm sure I'll get alot of use out of it but the See d's stamps are pretty much good value all the time.

Clear Albums

I just watched the latest webisode on CraftTV Weekly.... it's an album (clear) by Judi of JudiKins called "Clearly Transferrable". I love this concept it's a great idea...... But in terms of using the clear photos..... I'd actually print them onto clear labels (you can get A4 size labels from Avery) that way you'd cut out alot of those steps and just stick your photo to the page. This would also be great for printing journalling and titles and making little embellishments.... You could take it a step further by making your own papers and embellishments and printing them onto the clear stickers and adding them to the clear album...... the possibilities are endless! Now I'd really love to give these clear albums a go... I haven't been very motivated to try these before but now..........

An Angel to Watch Over Me

Image
Here's how I used the co-ordinating kit I got from the discount store. You know the kinds of shops they sell lots of cheap toys, ornaments, kitchenware and craft items. Anyway I used these papers and embellishments to do the photos of my kids waiting in the doorway. (Regular readers will know this one as I asked you guys for title submissions). I got some great suggestions but in the end went with "An Angel to watch over ME". I thought this was most fitting as my son is really such a sweet angel. He's so good! He never gets in trouble! He never had a naughty phase either. You know terrible two's or whatever. He never went through a hitting or biting phase, like some kids do. You know the ones that just turn on their playmates for no reason and smack the crap out of them. Must say DD didn't go through any of those phases either. She just throws a tanty if she doesn't get her way. But DS well he's just a very considerate boy! A joy to parent! And becaus

Discount Store Finds worth the search!

Image
I regularly troll through the discount shops to check out their scrapbooking supplies and see if there are any great finds to be found! This time I found a pack of paper, cardstock embellishments and cardstock letters that all match. Best of all I paid around half the price for each piece that you'd pay at the scrapbook stores.... mmm ... maybe less.... The cardstock embellishments and letters were in a single package for $2.95 a pack and the paper pack containing 12 papers (six designs) for $4.95. Then I found this great pack of two velvet papers for $3.50 which is a good price when you consider the velet papers can be anything up to $2.40 a piece in the scrapbook stores. So if you have the time to regularly check those little discount stores out it's well worth the trouble..... can't wait to show you what I did with the matching pack...

Double Page Wedding Layout - In the Church

Image
Hi everyone. This is my latest wedding album contribution. I have used a fabulous paper from the DCWV (Die Cuts With a View) Once Upon A Time Paper Pads for this double page spread. I don't know if you can see it very well but the background paper has a sketch of the inside of a huge cathedral..... which I thought rather appropriate for my photos of the ceremony. Our church wasn't as grand as this.... but it was still rather cute. I have decided to add lots of hidden journalling behind the photos so that the kids can get a real feel for the day. Lots of information that wouldn't interest anyone else. Like we didn't choose the church. The priest I wanted was retired and had to ask a friend if he could borrow their church for the day. So we only got to see the church when we turned up for rehersal, but there was a mix up that night and we couldn't get in.... we actually did our rehersal in front of the church... So the first time we saw the church was when we turned u
