F is for Fragile

Image
Well I finally found a moment to do some scrapbooking! YEAH! It's actually harder to find time to scrapbook now because I'm spending my days enjoying my baby's smile and giggle.... some days it's time to pick up my other kids from school and I realise I haven't done anything else. It's so great! I'm really enjoying being able to enjoy this baby. With my other two there were too many things going on and I didn't get to just sit and enjoy them so much. So this time round I'm making the most of it... it should be my last.... though DD1 is pleading with me to get pregnant once more and present her with twin girls next time..... Aaah to be four again and believe that's so easy to do. LOL Anyway: This layout was done using the DCWV Nana's Nursery papers and a glitter cardstock sheet from a 6 x 4 pad and some ribbons I've had for ages. I also used a Kaiser stamp (for the journalling box). I cut the "F" out of glitter cardstock and atta

Paper Bark It's Free!

I love to see the different ways people will use the same product. As you may remember a while ago I used paper bark in a title. I cut out my letters from the bark for my title. Anyway my sister-in-law Anne has used paperbark in a different way for a title by stamping on it.... pretty cool huh? Here's the link if you want to go check it out http://scraptastic-stuff.blogspot.com/2009/03/method-playground-40-non-traditional.html And if you've used an idea that I've had in a different way please share it with us! Leave us a comment for all to read!

PaperCraft Expo RNA Showgrounds Brisbane 2009

Oh guys my best scrapbuddy and I had a BALL on friday! We dropped out kids at school (we went to school together and now our kids go to school together... our eldest are in the same grade and my middle child and her youngest are in the same class.. how cute is that?) Anyway... we dropped the kids off and then headed in to town (baby strapped in for her first ever scrapbook event)... The Papercraft Expo at the RNA Showgrounds. We were a little worried that it would be too packed for us to move but surprisingly this didn't happen. The whole event was great. We browsed the many shops with "A Creative Place" getting a special commendation from me for their fantastic extra stall.... they took out another stall at the show and decorated it like a house with lots of furniture (lounge, dinning etc) and then added all their ideas on how to scrapbook items for your home (the dinner set with rub-ons adorning the plates looked great... not sure how long they'd last of if you'

U R A Treasure

I really like how this layout turned out. I used the papers from the DCWV Nana's Nursery range and some chipboard letters from different packs I've purchased in the past (can't believe they matched so well!) I then used a stamp from my clear kaiser stamps (the arrow) and stamped this on left over patterned paper scrap that matched, I then journalled in this arrow for added effect. The treasure title was from a previous bulk buy and I placed it on a scrap of cardstock to make it stand out against the background. Finally I inked all the edges so it's easy to see where one patterned paper begins and another ends and then added the kaiser jewels for a bit of bling! This layout used up alot of scraps so was a good example of how to use up your scraps. (it's 8 x 8 so you can use a few scraps to cover a page easily!)

Scrapbook and Craft Show this weekend

My best scrap buddy and I are off to the Brisbane Scrapbook Show this coming weekend.... Can't wait... I'll probably have to take the baby with me as it is our plan to drop the kids at school and head into the show.... I'll then either take the pram or a sling to carry the baby around... I think I'll be nackered on Friday evening...LOL Has anyone just been to the Melbourne one? Any info on what to expect? What are the new trends that I'll be seeing? I'd love to know so I can make sure I stop at the right stalls to watch the demos' etc.... I think otherwise cause we'll be in such a hurry that I might move too quickly and not take the time to browse adequately. So let me know if you've been!

Digiscrap a PhotoBook when on special!

Image
Have you ever wondered what to do with all that beautiful digitally scrapbooked work? Well you could print a photo book. I save all my pages up and then when there's a special on (Like the recent $9.95 for a 19 page book at Big W) I go in and get them printed. This way I have a hard copy of my work to show people and I get the pages printed very cheaply... that's around 52 cents per page. Just remember though the specials are more commonly done for the smaller books 8 x 8 etc. So when doing your layouts keep that in mind.
