Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Image
"Every year we go to the local shopping centre to get our photo done with Santa. This year the photo was very pink so I made this layout use the very untraditional pink and yellow christmas layout. The title was made using the "Ho Ho Ho" from the Brenda Walters K&Co range. I got these in a clear out bin for $3.95 for the entire sheet. I did splash out on two pieces of patterned paper to tie together the theme of christmas and my unusual christmas pink and yellow colour scheme. I used papers from the Skyes the Limit Cherry Christmas range as well as a sheet of yellow star embossed cardstock with a lovely shimmer in it that my Sister-in-law bought at CostCo's. This was topped off by a piece of paper towel I wet and dropped coloured paint onto and then dried. This was the cheapest element on my page.. being practically free. The christmas tree was from a Bella Sheet and cost $2.50 for the sheet. To add extra interest and texture I dry embossed the corner of the card...

Finished Board Book - R3

Image
A little while ago I showed you some finds I found in the kids bedrooms that were due to throw out but I saved them to make mini books. Well here is the finished project of the little fish board book. I have made it into an album of my daughter and the last year. Her journey through "3". I saved money here by using old papers from my stash (I wasn't allowed to buy anything new). My chipboard pieces are all used cardboard (though using my opals embossing powders on them isn't the cheapest way to alter them it is WAY COOL!) Next the flowers.... I did use ones straight from my K & Co Pad but am comforting myself with the knowledge that the cut outs have formed templates I can use to cut more or paint some..... lots of ways to reuse! The rest of the embellishments and rub-ons all came from my stash and were left overs from other projects. I could of saved alot of money on this book by making all the paper flowers from scraps of old papers and using stamps and stencil...

Wedding Album - Maid of Honour

Image
This page is about my maid of honour and was done to match the page "Anne - Maid of Honour" as it is the opposite page. I didn't want to use up all my paper from the pack as I know I have alot of photos to go but I still wanted it to match in nicely. I used stamps here to decorate my background and add my title. I love stamps as they are able to be used over and over again. The flowers were in a pack of embellishments that match the paper range from Die Cuts with a View and cost $4.97. I added the extra layers in the middle of the flowers by using a K & Co die cut book (punched out flowers) as my stencil then hand cut the new flowers and layered them on top of each other. I finally found the K & Co Pad of Die Cut Flowers..... as many of you know I've had serious flower envy of my best scrap buddy as she managed to get one of these at a show and I didn't and ever since I've regretted it. But it is a good example of how saving up your pennies to spend th...

I Love KandCo Glitter Chipboard Letters!

Image
I love the glitter chipboard alphabets from K&Co! But despite loving them to death I can't spend my entire weekly scrap budget on just one item. So I haven't bought any! I'm hoping to get some for my birthday though....take note DH...lol Anyway to get around this dilema I make my own. KMart has just increased the range of scrapbooking supplies they stock, much to my and my best scrapbuddies' delight! So I purchased a set of 5 glitter pots for $3 and make my own chipboard letters. Here are two layouts I just completed using my glitter chipboard letters and using my new Autumn Leaves stamps which are FABULOUS! I splashed out on these. As they needed a week and a half of my usual scrapbooking budget but I couldn't wait any longer. I recently got these photos from another mum who took these shots of my kids at her sons' birthday party and I thought they were great shots! They're not the traditional smiling faces but in a way they are truer to my kids persona...
