First Position

This layout is one of my more boring offerings. BUT it's true to the real point of scrapbooking. Preserving memories. So I'm including it regardless. The title here was cut out using a cricut machine using a shadow font. The little envelope was from a gift tag and holds the journalling about this photo. This photo shows how DD couldn't put her feet into first position for the first year of her dancing and how she used to have to bend over and place her feet in the right position using her hands. I thought it was so cute! I've used a piece of patterned cardstock for the background and then embellished the photo to add interest. I love the little pair of ballerina shoes I found and stuck in the bottom left hand corner of the photo.

Klick and Kut

I received this comment on an old post (my reply is below). Anonymous said... Buy a Klick and Kut, A.K.A. KNK. It's a custom cutter, like cricut, but doesn't take cartridges, and it cuts any computer font you have and can cut chipboard. Pricey though. $549 in the U.S. But never need dies, new alphas, and can size everything. 11:24 PM The Scrap Miser said... This sounds like EXACTLY what I want! Thank You! Now I just have to wait for them to come to Australia. After I got your post I started checking out my usual online shopping haunts... to no avail.I was actually tossing up whether or not to get a cricuit or a whishblade a while ago but didn't do anything in the end as I really do more with chipboard so figured I should spend that money on sizzix dies..... I know you said it's fairly expensive but I figure it's worth it as you don't have to keep buying dies everytime you want to do something.... You could probably create most things you want in Adobe and then ...

Scrap with a Friend

Well I haven't posted for a little while. Due to a combination of problems. My husband is always on the computer... getting ready and organised for Christmas and I'm suffering a summer flu at present. I haven't stopped scrapping though and will have some layouts to show you in the next couple of days. Anyway yesterday I did my favourite kind of scrapping. Scrapping with a Friend. I'm really very lucky. I have a girlfriend I've known since the fourth grade who has kids the same ages as mine (roughly). So we try and scrapbook at each others places and let the kids play together while we do it. So yesterday Chris came over and I showed her the tools I got from my hubby for my birthday and she gave them all a go. Unfortunately she now wants all of them too! The thing I love about this kind of scrapbooking.... even though I rarely get a layout finished at one of these sessions is the chance to look through her work and get ideas. I love the shabby chic and distressed to...
